Preface

Dear reader,

I firmly believe that time is the most valuable resource we have. Thank you for choosing to spend your time with me, learning about Azure serverless compute.

It is hard to believe how far cloud technologies have come in the last decade. serverless compute is a type of technology that was unimaginable just a few years ago and is now rapidly gaining popularity. With the rise in popularity, it is timely to think where serverless compute fits into application development in general. This book aims at providing a hands-on guide to implementing .NET-based Azure serverless functions as well as looking at the bigger picture of designing and maintaining serverless applications.

With this rapid technology advancement, it is only fitting, perhaps, that even during the time of writing of this book, the Azure serverless technology was enhanced a number of times. Every effort has been made to keep the book’s content as current as possible. Please keep this in mind as you read, and do not hesitate to reach out if the text needs further revision.

I would like to express sincere gratitude to my technical reviewers, Donna Malayeri, and Mikhail Veselov, for their feedback and support. Additional thanks goes to Packt publishing for this tremendous opportunity, as well as the entire Packt editor team that worked with me, for their dedication and effort throughout the publishing process.

Finally, I would like to thank Lou for his unwavering support that helped me see this project to completion.
