Chapter 6: Performance Insights for Database Services

The first facing system users come across in any service is the application they are interacting with. We spent the previous chapter talking about monitoring in containers. Since containers are a major part of compute and will continue to be in the future, we looked at the different types of container services in AWS.

Now that we have understood how to monitor applications that are being run in AWS compute services, we also need to understand database services and how to monitor and ensure better availability for them. An application is not complete without the database serving as the source of truth for all the information that has been collected by the application.
