Folders and Collections

A big part of Lightroom Classic is its excellent selection of asset management tools. We will learn about the differences and similarities between collections and folders, how we might use them, and what different approaches can mean for our workflow, both in the short term and when planning for the future.

When I mention "asset management," it is just a fancy way to think of how digital evolution replaced sticking labels on bags with negatives held in shoeboxes. By assets, I mean our precious photographs. Even if they don't mean much financially, they can be of great emotional or historical value. So, we want to be able to pinpoint the photograph we are looking for quickly and accurately.
