Building Configuration Items for Windows 10


CM Current Branch has added many handy features to manage Windows 10. Compliance Settings also include improvement when it comes to Windows 10. The CI that we called "the old way" lets you verify and remediate any custom settings/registry/WMI/files and so on. The CI type for Windows 10, though, will offer something which is more like a GPO. Indeed, this CI proposes predefined settings such as password policy, device policy, and so on.

Let's assume that your company wants to disable bluetooth on all Windows 10 computers. You will see next that a CI for Windows 10 offers a very simple way to do that.

How to do...

  1. In the CM admin console, navigate to Assets and Compliance | Compliance Settings | Configuration Items and click on Create Configuration Item in the ribbon to launch Create Configuration Item Wizard.
