Chapter 6. Workspace Management

In this chapter, we will look at the latest technology available for Bring Your Own Device deployments provided by AirWatch by VMware. As demonstrated in Chapter 5, Mobile Device Management, BYOD is fully supported with this deployment. However, moving forward, the management of personal devices needs to be better differentiated, allowing a clear distinction between personal-owned information and corporate-owned information. This is where workspace management comes in. workspace management allows you to deploy a virtualized encrypted container to a device, which then allows you to deploy and contain your corporate resources within the organization's control.

First, we will give an overview of workspace management and look at BYOD in more detail and how workspace management fits into this deployment. We will then set up and configure the organization and smart groups needed for enrolling into workspace.
