Developer anti-patterns
The Developers are responsible for creating the Sprint Backlog and delivering one or more Product Increments within the Sprint. Sometimes, dysfunctions may occur. We’ll examine the following anti-patterns:
- Daily Scrum hijacking
- The Daily Scrum grind
- Working in silos
- Deferring to the Product Owner
- Ignoring technical debt
- Inconsistent estimation

Daily Scrum hijacking
A Developer uses the Daily Scrum to either rant about some perceived problem or expand on their latest achievement. Often, the Developer will interrupt other Developers so that they can bring the subject back to their problem or achievement.
Consequences:
- Other Developers don’t have the chance to speak for long within the Daily Scrum timebox
- Developers switch off and don’t actively participate in the Daily Scrum
