Pre-enrollment

Before we start enrolling devices, let's ensure that we have all our prerequisites and any other items in place that will ensure that the deployment is efficient and secure:

• All security settings are in place based on the recommendations from Chapter 4, Mobile Security. For enrollment, you will want to ensure that the following specific configurations are set up:

  • Compliance Policies (to check this, navigate to Devices | Compliance Policies | List View)

  • Terms of Use (to check this, navigate to Accounts | Users | Settings | Terms of Use)

  • Workspace security policies and settings as described in the previous section

• All enterprise integrations are set up and configured based on Chapter 3, Enterprise Integration. For enrollment, you have multiple options for your users to authenticate:

  • Basic Authentication: This allows manual creation of accounts in AirWatch

  • AD/LDAP Authentication direct or with ACC: This integrates with the current directory for consistent credentials
