6. Conclusion: The future is bright

Thanks for reading my book. I hope you enjoyed it and learned a lot about AI. In fact, if you wrote your own definitions of AI in the first chapter, it might be interesting to revisit them to see if your opinions have changed.

Now then, I know the last two chapters had more than their share of doom and gloom. To be honest, I didn’t know where to place those chapters–I didn’t want to scare you too early in the book, but I also didn’t want the book to finish on a gloomy note. Ultimately, I placed them at the end, so here’s my effort to sign off on a positive note.

I look at history and see a trend of technology improving human life. It’s helping us live longer and healthier lives, it’s improving the quality of life for those of us with disabilities, it’s helping us connect and communicate, travel further and safer, learn quicker, and so much more. And when I look at AI, I see this trend continuing...
