Inserting animated GIF files into the project

In this exercise, you will import an animated GIF file on the blank slide you have created in the previous section. You will then test your project to see the animation at work. Use the following steps to perform this exercise:

  1. Make sure you are on slide 2 of the Chapter03/takeTheTrain.cptx project.
  2. Use the Media | Animation icon on the Toolbar to insert a new animation on the current slide.

In the dialog that opens, you have to choose which animation file you want to import. By default, this dialog opens on the Captivate Gallery folder, which can be found at the following locations:

  • Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2019 x64\Gallery
  • macOS: /Applications/Adobe Captivate 2019/Gallery

The Gallery folder is further divided into several subfolders, with assets that you can use in your Captivate projects. However, in this exercise, you won't use the Gallery. Instead, you will use a custom .gif file.
