Import via the Configuration Assistant

This is the Oracle-recommended method and is suitable if you are configuring the new 12c system for the first time. This is an important point, so if you have already configured the 12c system, skip this section and move onto importing via the migration script. Remember, we used the assistant in Chapter 3 , Installing on Windows Server 2012. So please refer back to that chapter for a refresher if needs be (or if you run into issues), as we will not cover the process in the same detail again here:

  1. Proceeding with the Configuration Assistant, from your command line, go to ORACLE_HOME/bi/bin folder:

  2. Start the assistant using ./config.sh for Unix or config.cmd for Windows.
  3. Select the components you wish to install, for example, BI Publisher, as shown in Chapter 3, Installing on Windows Server 2012.
  4. Click Next on the Prerequisite Checks screen, ensuring that there are no errors.
  5. You will now see the Define New Domain screen. As per Chapter 3, Installing...
