In this chapter, you have learned how to deploy an ASP.NET MVC application to a Kubernetes cluster, together with a containerized Microsoft SQL Server 2019. We have shown how to approach making an existing .NET Framework application cloud-ready and how to create robust Dockerfiles for such applications. Next, we have prepared an AKS Engine cluster Deployment for our voting application and deployed Microsoft SQL Server 2019 in single-node failover mode, backed by Azure Disk. The application was deployed to the cluster using a Kubernetes Deployment and we have used a Kubernetes Job in order to apply EF database migrations. After that, you have learned a bit more about scaling the Kubernetes Deployments and overcommitting of computing resources.
