Using Generative AI to Summarize Documents

Many of us have to put together proposals or reports of some kind—whether it’s responding to a request for proposal (RFP), delivering a statement of work, proposing a solution to a customer, or presenting a quarterly business report. The executive report or executive summary can be a key feature of each of those kinds of documents—bringing the key points together in a high-level, digestible overview.

In this chapter, we’ll look at how we can leverage the power of generative AI to reason over content, build an executive summary, and insert it back into a document. We’ll expand to using some third-party connectors, including document integration tools from Encodian and Cloudmersive, as well as an OpenAI subscription, to make it happen!
