Chapter 9. Advanced View Settings

We're getting near the end of all the Views options: the third column, labeled Advanced. Unless you changed the default setting in the Views settings page, this column looks empty, as the Advanced column is a fieldset that defaults to closed. Open it up, and there are quite a few options. Contextual filters and relationships were covered in Chapter 4, Contextual Filters, and Chapter 5, Relationships. This chapter will cover the rest of the advanced fieldset. Some settings are relatively straightforward, such as putting exposed filters in a separate block and the machine name, administrative comment, and CSS class. Others, such as aggregation, caching, and the query settings, are definitely advanced settings that most users will likely never need but can offer powerful enhancements to those edge case requirements.
