The current state of your environment is critical in how you proceed to start a new enterprise SharePoint implementation, migration to a new version of SharePoint, hybrid integration, or migration to the cloud. There are many checks and balances you need to understand before moving forward with your SharePoint project. The reason most projects fail with SharePoint is the lack of understanding and gathering of facts on the environment from the enterprise, governance, content, customizations, errors, and server configuration levels before you begin. Assessing the good and the bad in these areas gives clarity on what needs to be planned, designed, and implemented to be successful.
