Chapter 7. Tuning the Operating System
In the projects that I have participated to date, and even the forums that I have supported, it became apparent that users do not have any major concerns regarding the necessary adjustments to the operating system when Zabbix is run in the environment.
What happens is that every operating system has its own configuration requirements for ensuring good performance in the applications it will support. The operating system is an extremely important part of environmental deployment of Zabbix. The Zabbix SIA guides users to use the operating system with which they have more experience. And why? So that they can make the necessary adjustments to get the best performance.
And we know, in fact, what the OS performance adjustments required to support Zabbix are.
In this chapter, we will talk about these topics:
- Linux distributions and Zabbix
- The necessary adjustments in the kernel
