Product Owner anti-patterns
According to the Scrum Guide, the Product Owner is accountable for maximizing the value of the product by leveraging the work done by the Scrum Team. Sometimes, Product Owners may fall into the following bad habits:
- Solutionizing
- Scope creep
- The Boss Syndrome
- Squeezing the Sprint/no cushioning
- Reactive, not proactive

Solutionizing
Part of the Product Owner’s job is to describe and clarify backlog items. If a backlog item is about a new feature, then that feature’s intended behavior and required functionality should be made clear. If the item concerns a bug, then the deviation from the required behavior should be described, as well as the environment and circumstances in which the bug occurs.
