Chapter 12. Printing

If you walk around your office and ask both users and IT administrators what their major pain points are, there is a 99% chance that printing will be high on the list, if not the primary hurdle for some of them. In today's enterprises, there are so many printing devices available that it has become a real challenge administering and delivering them to users where and when they need them. Besides the quantity of units, making sure that the correct printer drivers are installed and that they don't cause issues with other applications is a constant concern for system administrators. When you add a virtual layer on top of this, things can get even trickier and this is what this chapter is all about. The goal is to explain how printing works in a Citrix infrastructure and how printer objects can be managed to minimize overhead and make your life at least a little easier on the printing side of things.
