Summary

This chapter was focused on exploring the purpose of best practices, the different best practices for continuous delivery and deployment, and how GitOps ties into those best practices. We spent some time learning about how the DevOps team in our analogy considers the different best practices, how they discovered what best practices were, and how they would need to implement them.

In the next chapter, we will work through the basics of building different declarative files in different languages. You will learn how to structure JSON, YAML, and XML, as well as understand the different templatization styles that can be used. The following chapters will be more technical in nature, but there will be significant explanations along the way.
