A business case


A manufacturing company is required to interact with a production machine in order to retrieve details for production orders in progress. This data must be displayed on a dedicated NAV page in a graphical way and the final output must be displayed on a big touch screen monitor in the production department.

The technical requirements are as follows:

  • Data about production orders must be retrieved from an external production machine

  • The production machine returns all the production orders that are in progress and their status (completed or not)

  • NAV must receive this data and display the production orders status in a graphical way

  • The NAV page must be touch-friendly and must be displayed on a big touch screen

  • The operators must have a very simple user interface that permits them to do the following things:

    • Refresh the data (reload it from the external machine)

    • Click on a production order box to see its details
