Integrating with VFS

The main topic in the previous chapter was the testing of the services that we deployed in Enterprise Integrator, with internal tools from WSO2, and also, external programs for creating requests and consuming those services. The subsequent chapters will go through different protocols of integration from EI, such as Virtual File System (VFS), Java Message Service (JMS), and connectors that will bring us the opportunity to expand the default functionality of the server and create more complete services that can interact with other servers.

This chapter focuses on the integration of Enterprise Integrator with files, local or remote, handled using the VFS protocol from Apache Commons. We will learn how to do the following in this chapter:

  • Configuring the server for VFS protocol
  • Global properties used by VFS implementation
  • Reading files from the local, samba,...
