Objects in Salesforce
In this chapter, we will focus on what is exceptionally important in the Salesforce structure, namely objects. As I mentioned earlier, Salesforce may remind you of Microsoft Excel, and I believe this software can be dubbed the precursor to most CRMs worldwide. So, if we draw a comparison to Excel, the object discussed in this chapter is akin to a spreadsheet. It’s the place where we keep our columns and rows of data. This is a structure that enables data storage. That’s what an object is, and that’s the end of it. Of course, I am joking – this is just the beginning. In this chapter, you will learn the differences between standard and custom objects, as well as what junction and external objects are.
I invite you to the world of objects, elements without which Salesforce wouldn’t exist. Here are the topics you will find here:
- Standard/custom objects
- Junction objects
- External objects
