Integrating map capabilities into canvas apps

Extending device capabilities is one of the main aspects that differentiate canvas apps from other types of apps. Using features such as the camera and the Global Positioning System (GPS) allows the app maker to extend solutions beyond desktop devices.

The Power Platform provides two geospatial features that, together with the device’s capabilities, can complement a powerful solution.

In this recipe, we will create an application to help home sellers of a real estate company pick up new opportunities when working outside the office.

Getting ready

When building apps, geospatial features are tagged as premium components. You can quickly distinguish which ones are premium by looking at the diamond icon next to them, as seen in the following screenshot:
