This chapter will have three main objectives for the reader to learn. The first objective is to create an understanding of the vulnerabilities found within Wi-Fi technology. We will cover the different methods that a hacker might use to gain a victim's Wi-Fi password. The reader will be introduced to new Wi-Fi hacking terminology and definitions. This chapter will have a hands-on lab. This lab will demonstrate the process of cracking a WPA2 Wi-Fi password. We will focus on using the aircrack-ng suite to crack passwords with. There will also be screenshots for each step so that the reader can follow along. The syntax of the aircrack-ng suite will also be explained. To complete the lab in this chapter you will need a router and Kali Linux (use a virtual machine to run Kali Linux. VMware Player is free and has good stability). We have recommended the most compatible Wi-Fi adapters...
