Laptop configuration and deployment
In this section, we will cover the enrollment of Windows 8.1/RT and Mac OS X laptops.
Mac OS X
Mac OS X devices have traditionally been managed on a need-by-need basis. With AirWatch, we can centrally manage and configure deployments for Mac OS X devices in the enterprise to provide access to the needed corporate resources with the required security.
The following Mac devices are supported with AirWatch:
MacBook Pro with OS X 10.7 Lion and higher versions
MacBook Air with OS X 10.7 Lion and higher versions
Mac Mini with OS X 10.7 Lion and higher versions
iMac with OS X 10.7 Lion and higher versions
Mac Pro with OS X 10.7 Lion and higher versions
The first step is to create a new organization group as described in the Organization and Smart Groups section of Chapter 5, Mobile Device Management. This will allow you to begin enrolling your Mac OS X devices.
