Summary

In this chapter, we introduced you to the concepts of cloud native and its principles. Furthermore, we introduced you to the 12-factor app and discussed each of the 12 factors in more detail.

You should now have a fairly good understanding of what is required to build genuinely cloud-native applications. We hope that this information will be an inspiration and a springboard for you to start developing applications, or migrate existing ones, as truly cloud-native apps.

In the next chapter, we will move our Cargo Tracker application to the cloud.
