Introduction

As is discussed in this book, deep learning also had a major influence on robotics and game playing agents. Other machine learning algorithms already demonstrated how to beat human players in less complex environments. However, deep learning models were able to achieve above human performance in more complex environments. Driving a car has always been seen as a complex task that could only be done by humans and maybe in the distant future by robots as well. Recent advancements in AI and sensor technologies made it clear that autonomous vehicles are not a distant future dream anymore.
