Creating rounded corner rectangles

Now that we have our background in place, we can turn our attention to the graphic elements. To create a white rectangular border along the edge of the artwork, we'll use the Rectangle tool Graphical user interface, application  Description automatically generated. We’ll round the corners of the rectangle after having drawn it.

  1. Choose the Rectangle tool Graphical user interface, application  Description automatically generated . Click and drag from the top-left margin to the bottom right margin. InDesign, by default, will snap your cursor into these guides.
  2. Head over to the Properties panel.
    1. Under the Appearance subset of controls, ensure that the object has no fill, and Paper as its stroke color.
    2. Set the Stroke thickness to 8 pt.
    3. To round off the corners, click on the corner type drop-down list arrow to the right of the word Corner. This option appears directly below the Stroke property on the Properties panel. Choose the very last option, which is Rounded. Increase the roundness value to 48 pixels. Lock this object too by choosing Object menu | Lock
