Registering a domain name

The Route 53 service also serves as a self-service domain registrar and makes it very easy to register your domain name. Let's take a look at how we can register a domain and start using it in Route 53. This process should take less than five minutes:

1. First, navigate to the Route 53 console and click on Get started now under Domain registration:

2. We can either register a new domain or transfer an existing one. We will take a look at registering a domain by clicking on the Register Domain button:

3. In the Choose a domain name dialog, choose a domain name you want to register and click Check. If the system finds the domain name to be already registered, it will offer suggestions on other domain names similar to ours.
4. Once you are ready to select your domain, just click on Add to cart and then click on Continue:

5. Next, fill out the contact information...
