Summary
The chapter began with an introduction to MPLS TE within the network topology. This introduction is intended to facilitate the creation of auto-tunnels, which will be discussed later in the book. Introducing MPLS TE at this point provides a foundation before delving further into the TI-LFA lab scenarios.
In scenarios where the TI-LFA backup path could not be identified with two additional segments encoded as labels – given that the maximum label depth is three for the Cisco IOS XR platform – MPLS TE initiates an auto-tunnel instead.
