Technical requirements

In this chapter, you will need the following to apply hands-on learning:

• A Tableau Desktop application: Most versions will work with the exam, but for best results, use 2021.1 or later. The location of the current download is https://www.tableau.com/products/desktop/download. This version is not free but allows for a 2-week trial. In earlier chapters, the Tableau Public Application would work, but not in this case.

Note

The Tableau Public Application will not be useful for learning about these concepts, as data stored on Tableau Public is automatically extracted.

• The Superstore Sales dataset: This automatically comes with the Tableau Desktop application but can also be pulled into the Tableau Public application by downloading it from Tableau Resources here: https://public.tableau.com/en-us/s/resources?qt-overview_resources=1#qt-overview_resources.
• Excel or Google Sheets to create a new data source: Instructions on what to add to...
