IAM security fundamentals

IAM is essential for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of an organization’s information systems. By providing centralized control over user accounts, IAM systems help prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data and resources. IAM systems also provide a way to monitor and audit user activity, which can help detect and prevent security incidents.

From a security perspective, IAM systems must be designed with several key considerations in mind. These include the following:
