Investigating Instant VM Recovery within Veeam Cloud Connect
Another enhancement in Veeam Backup & Replication v12 that will help Service Providers out is conducting instant VM recovery from within the console for any tenants sending backups to the Cloud Connect repository. Prior to Veeam Backup & Replication v12, this was not possible for Service Providers, but with the feature introduced in v12, it is possible for a Service Provider to recover any VM for a client within their environment.
I will use a sample tenant I set up within the Veeam Cloud Connect console: VCC_Tenant. A backup job was created to send a virtual machine backup to the VCC server to conduct the instant VM recovery process. The process is as follows, and is done from the Veeam Cloud Connect console on the Service Provider side:
- First, the backup from the tenant will need to be imported into the console by clicking the Import Backup button on the Home tab.
