Aligning incentives

Alignment and accountability are important in goal setting for a product because they help to ensure that everyone involved in the product is working towards the same goal, and they are held responsible for meeting those goals.

When goals are aligned, it means that everyone understands what the goals are and how they fit into the overall strategy for the product. This can help to ensure that everyone is working toward the same objectives and that their efforts are focused in the right direction.

Accountability, on the other hand, helps to ensure that everyone is held responsible for meeting the goals that have been set.
