Enabling domain name wildcards with dnsmasq
In this recipe we will learn how to enhance dnsmasq with domain name wildcards.
Having successfully deployed a local nameserver that supports domain lists, it is the purpose of this recipe to expand on our previous success by establishing a system of automatic domain name creation based on a predefined set of values.
Getting ready
To complete this recipe you will require a working installation of the CentOS 6 operating system with root privileges, a static IP address, and a console-based text editor of your choice. It is assumed that you have already installed dnsmasq as a result of the advice provided by the previous recipes found within this chapter, namely Deploying a local nameserver with dnsmasq and Logging events with dnsmasq and combining this with logrotate.
