AWS account prerequisites
Connect is a bit unique with the prerequisites for your AWS account. Since Connect is essentially a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering at its core, it generally doesn't require as much account pre-work as other AWS services. There are, however, three things that we should look at before you deploy your Connect instance: Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), federation, and management roles. These items should be configured before your deployment. However, they may or may not be needed depending on the capabilities you found necessary when sketching your contact flows. We will cover these details in the next sections.
VPC
When you deploy typical compute6 resources in AWS such as EC2, you need to have a VPC to house them. VPCs also need additional resources such as Network Address Translation (NAT) and public gateways.
