Recap

In the previous chapter, we reviewed why Jet Express for GP is now free and available for all GP users. We also used the Jet Table Builder to create an Excel table to generate the effect of a general ledger trial balance. While the Table Builder is a great tool, it does not provide users with an easy method of getting the data from a table into a format that looks like the traditional balance sheet, or profit and loss statement. The Jet Express for GP GL function makes creating financial statements a snap. The GL function only reads data from the general ledger transactions, so we'll use the GL function to create reports for this chapter.

Tip

Create reports in the order of this chapter. Start with the balance sheet, then the profit and loss and, finally, the additional elements. To maximize your learning experience, we will use different approaches for each topic beginning with the easiest approach.
