Imagery options
In Chapter 13, we talked about Open Data on AWS. As part of this, we have several satellite datasets available. In this chapter, we will talk about Sentinel, Landsat, and NAIP. However, many other satellite datasets are available, such as those for weather, radar, and other sensors, as well as derivatives of satellite imagery, such as ESA WorldCover.

Sentinel-1A was the first of the satellites to launch, in 2014, followed by 2A and 2B in 2015 and 2017, respectively. These are the satellites we will use in our demo. Missions are planned out to 2025 with Sentinel6A and 6B. The Sentinel 2 satellites we will be working with collect 13 different spectral bands and have a revisit time of around 2 times per 10 days but with different angles. Sentinel 2 collects imagery...
