Summary

In this chapter, we learned about the different imagery products available on AWS and some of the differences between the datasets available. We completed a tutorial on how to load sentinel imagery into QGIS for analysis and how to work with the different bands available in the imagery. Before this data was available on AWS, it was challenging to access and analyze it. There wasn’t easy access or the ability to work with the data in place; the only option was to download massive imagery files over the slow internet to the small amount of storage on a laptop. Not only does AWS provide the storage for this data but it also provides native tools such as SageMaker Geospatial to work with the data all in one place.
