The deployment process

Windows 365 is remarkably simple to deploy. For Entra hybrid join, it is required to bring in an Azure subscription for the domain controller (Kerberos) connection. This is to support legacy applications or other backend services that require this type of authentication.

If you are ready to go cloud-native, you can go straight up to Entra join without the need for an Azure subscription or a domain controller! This makes it possible to provision Cloud PCs without any infrastructure components. For Windows 365 Enterprise, you will only need licenses and Microsoft Intune administrator credentials and you will be all set!

We recommend that customers use Entra join if possible. Moving from Hybrid join to Entra join does require a re-provisioning of the user’s Cloud PC:
