Problem – iCloud videos are still “downloading”
Many iMovie users are plagued by this issue, mostly on iMovie for iOS/iPadOS. You select media from the Media Browser to go into your project, but your clips don’t end up there. The app explains that the media (videos, most often) is still being downloaded from iCloud, but nothing seems to happen – you’re stuck with the files never in your timeline. There may be a few different reasons for this:
- You have no (or a slow) internet connection
- Your iCloud storage is full
- The footage that was being downloaded now can’t be located
This problem is more likely to come up on mobile devices because more of the media we tend to use in projects come from iCloud libraries – specifically, the iCloud Photo Library.
