Update Management

Another critical aspect is ensuring that endpoints are updated with the latest security updates and signature files for any antivirus software. While we covered signature files using endpoint protection policies using Endpoint Manager, we can also configure Windows Updates in there using a feature called update rings.

Additionally, it should also be noted that Microsoft recently announced a new feature called Autopatch, which automates the deployment of updates to Windows, Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise, Microsoft Edge, and Microsoft Teams. Update rings are useful for installing the latest updates that come with Patch Tuesday. New release editions and devices that are updated using update rings will get a screenshot as follows:
