Adding, Editing, and Removing Channels

Creating a channel in Microsoft Teams involves a few simple steps, which can be accomplished through both the Teams application and the Microsoft Teams admin center. This section will detail both methods as well as how to manage those channels once they’ve been created.

Exercise 7.1: Creating Channels via Microsoft Teams

The following exercise will explain how to create channels via Teams:

1. To add channels via Microsoft Teams, first, go to the team where you want to add the channel and select the More options ellipsis (…) next to the team name. Then choose Add channel, as shown in Figure 7.1.

2. Next, you can name, describe, and set the channel type for your new channel. This dialog is shown in Figure 7.2.
