Summary

In this chapter, we focused on how ChatGPT can be used in conversation design. We explored the multifaceted role of the conversation designer and looked at some of the many tasks that make up the conversation design process in more detail. We learned that some of these tasks can be tackled with the help of ChatGPT.

We delved into the practical tasks involved, such as understanding user needs, designing personas, creating conversation flows, and writing dialogue.

We also learned that it’s important to understand that ChatGPT is not a replacement for good conversation design practices, but that it is an incredibly powerful tool.

At the heart of our use of ChatGPT as a conversation design assistant is the effective implementation of prompt engineering. We started to look at the principles involved with prompt engineering.
