Time for action—moving a pattern into the Song Editor

  1. Let's get started by creating a new project and saving it with the name Ambience. Now, let's use this pattern to get us started:

    This beat will be a nice foundation for the project. You can vary it a bit if you like. It's the same pattern from our Advanced Beatmaking project.

  2. To get this beat into our song, let's open the Song Editor, which will be on the left-hand side of our project. The Beat+Bassline Editor will show up in the track list of our Song Editor:

  3. To get our pattern to play in the Song Editor, we simply click on the area next to the track, which gives us an element that is the length of the pattern:

  4. Now that our pattern is in the Song Editor, let's make the pattern play four times as long. Click next to the elements as they are created to have the pattern repeat itself four times:
