Client tools for page development
The Business Central web client provides us with two tools that come in handy for inspecting or extending pages. The first one, Page Inspection, is an important tool for identifying pages, whereas the second, Designer, can be helpful for writing our very first page extensions. Let’s investigate these two.
Page inspection
The page inspection feature, also referred to as the Page Inspector, enables us to get details about a page, such as the page type, most page fields, and the source behind the data it displays. Furthermore, we can inspect which apps are extending the page, and which filters are being applied. We can inspect any page that we can view. This feature is a useful tool for developers, consultants, and users requesting support.
To inspect an opened page, we choose the question mark (?) in the black application bar, choose Help & Support, and then choose Inspect pages and data. Or we can just use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl...
