Summary

In this chapter, you learned the basic concepts that are needed to move your application into the Azure cloud. First, I covered what exactly the cloud is and the benefits you get when using it. Then, I listed the hosting models that exist in the cloud world and when you should consider each of them for your system. In this book, we are using the Microsoft Azure cloud, and so I showed you how to open your account and explained how the subscription and account model works and the fundamentals you need to work efficiently with resources using ARM templates and resource groups.
