Using views and stored procedures

Physical data structures of relational databases become more complicated as the solved problem becomes more complex. Using physical data structures has only potentially negative impact on performance as well as the accuracy of repeatedly executed transactions or complicated queries. Aside from this effect, security is also something to consider. This is why it's a very good idea to cover physical data structures using objects dedicated to providing readable projection of data called database views. Also, data checks and transactions is good to encapsulate into dedicated objects called stored procedures. In this section, we will explain database applications. We will then play with views to add a layer of data transformation and denormalization, and in the last part of this section, we will provide several examples of stored procedures.
