Configure live events settings
The Microsoft Teams admin center has a page for live events settings found by choosing Meetings | Live events settings from the left-hand menu.
Exam tip
Teams meetings are limited to 1,000 participants, while live events can have up to 10,000 attendees. After a meeting has 1,000 participants, additional people can join but in view-only (no chat, unmute, video share, and so on). The Advanced Communication add-on for Microsoft Teams increases these limits. With the add-on, Teams meetings participants that join after the initial 1,000 (overflow) are view-only participants up to 20,000. You can also use the Microsoft live events assistance program to plan events with up to 100,000 attendees.
For users to be able to create live events, they'll need to be licensed for Microsoft or Office 365 (E1, E3, E5, A3, or A5), Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Stream (if planning to share recordings to external apps or devices). If not planning to share recordings...
