Governing data products
After deploying a data product instance, it requires governance throughout its operational lifespan within the production environment. In other words, it needs constant monitoring and control. This section will explore how to govern data products from their release to decommissioning.
Collecting and sharing metadata
Data product versions come with a descriptor file that stores all their relevant metadata. The governance capability defines a shared standard for the content and format of this file ( example, DPDS). Data product development teams are responsible for gathering the necessary metadata and including it in the descriptor file. To ensure successful deployment in any runtime environment, the descriptor file in the product’s main repository must be complete and accurate.
