Monitoring compliance

Let's take a deeper look into how to view compliance alerts and what dashboards there are that can help us monitor our environment.

Compliance Alerts

Now that we have enabled vSphere configuration compliance, let's check how compliant our vSphere environment is:

Select the vSphere World custom group as you did in the previous example. Navigate to the Analysis tab and select Compliance. As you will notice from the following image, the compliance badge score has dropped to 83% after we activated all the configuration compliance policies:

It may take a few minutes until the Compliance badge score changes, reflecting the newly activated compliance alerts.

Chris Slater is a Senior Solutions Architect working for VMware as part of the Professional Services Organisation (PSO). He specializes in SDDC technologies and methodologies such as vSphere, vRealize Operations Manager, and Infrastructure and Platform as a Service (IaaS/PaaS) through vRealize Automation. Chris is a VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX-DV #102) and received a Bachelor of IT from the Australian National University. His primary customer base is the Australian Federal Government that has allowed him to work in some of the largest vSphere environments in Australia.Chris is in his early 30s and it grateful for the support from his wife Nicola and three children Sophia, Daniel and Joel. Scott Norris has 12 years of professional IT experience. Currently, he works for VMware as a Consulting Architect.
